This article highlights the importance of integrating the knowledge and experience of communities in the development of Community Networks (CNs). These networks offer low-income communities new ways to connect with technology, but their success depends on understanding local socio-cultural, political and economic practices. The workshop proposes to bring together community members from around the world who work in CNs to share their experience in designing and maintaining these networks. It also offers young researchers the opportunity to learn from these experts in the field.
