This report examines the digital divide and connectivity challenges in Mexico, with a focus on rural and indigenous communities. It describes how, in response to the failure of market and state solutions, these communities have developed autonomous community networks. These projects include cellular networks in Oaxaca, community intranets in Chiapas, and technical training programs, reflecting a focus on technological autonomy and adapting technology to their ways of life and organization. The report highlights the importance of community self-management and empowerment in the field of telecommunications.
