Led by Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) the Nigeria National School of Community Networks strengthens the technical, organizational, and advocacy capacities of rural communities through community-centred training and mentorship.

TheThe programme combines face-to-face workshops, online mentoring, peer learning, and project-based support to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and sustain community networks. Training covers network deployment, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, resource mobilization, and policy advocacy, with a strong emphasis on women's participation and leadership.

The first National School was launched in 2021, followed by additional training cycles, mentorship activities, and a microgrant programme supporting locally led community connectivity initiatives. Since then, the programme has expanded its reach through new cohorts, community partnerships, and national advocacy efforts.

Since 2024, the School has continued as a self-funded initiative, demonstrating its long- term sustainability and the growing commitment of local partners. Capacity-building efforts have supported the creation of community-led organizations, strengthened technical and business skills, and promoted sustainable governance models for community networks.

The sixth edition of the National School is scheduled for 2026, continuing to expand opportunities for grassroots learning while increasing the participation of women and strengthening locally led connectivity initiatives across Nigeria.
