Led by Zenzeleni Networks, the South Africa National School of Community Networks strengthened the capacity of grassroots organizations to design, deploy, and sustain community networks in underserved areas across the country.

The programme combined online learning, face-to-face workshops, mentorship, and project-based learning, enabling participants to build technical, organizational, and community leadership skills. Training covered community network infrastructure, operations, sustainability, governance, and local digital inclusion strategies.

Seven community organizations participated throughout the programme, receiving ongoing mentorship and support to develop locally driven connectivity initiatives through a microgrant scheme. Participants presented their community network projects to stakeholders from government, civil society, academia, and industry, helping strengthen collaboration across the community connectivity ecosystem.
