Third Session of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway Steering Committee and WSIS Regional Review

The third session of AP-IS Steering Committee and WSIS Review in August 2019 saw 150 participants from governments, agencies, private sector, and experts discussing proposals. The Internet Society suggested studying a shared Pacific Internet Exchange Point, while China proposed a terrestrial cable sharing model. The National Information Society Agency of Korea proposed a neutral IXP carrier for CLMV countries. The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur suggested an AP-IS Academia Network working group. China and Iran supported establishing subregional connectivity-focused working groups.
